"What we have to do... is to find a way to celebrate our diversity and debate our differences without fracturing our communities."
Hillary Clinton
Welcome to my diversity blog!
My name is Regine and I am a fourth year student at West Chester University of
Pennsylvania. I am creating this blog because it is a requirement for one of my
classes. Within the next few weeks, I will be posting articles, comments, and
facts about diversity and how it affects us as Americans. I am not an expert on
the topic, but my role will be more like a facilitator. I will post on a
biweekly basis or as often as I am required. I will provide information
about different race and ethnicity, different cultures and subcultures within
the United States, and hope to generate heartfelt discussions about this
heated topic.
This topic is fascinating
to me because America is a multicultural nation and diversity is at the
forefront of society. People of various race, ethnicity, culture and religious
backgrounds reside in America. Some people use the melting pot theory to explain
cultural diversity in America while others refer to The United States as a
salad bowl. You may share these views or you may disagree, yet we can all agree
that diversity is a strong force that influences our lives as Americans.
Your blog roll on the right is really long. Is there a way to put it in the middle here and provide your commentary along with the links?
